Picture keeps dimming even with light sensor turned off.Picture starts off great , then gets dark.I want my picture settings to stay where I put them.I am UNHAPPY, wish I could send it back.Sony's auto dimming feature is terrible!
First things First the moment i took this thing out the box it screamed Sex, Sleek, Elegant. It didn't stop there, i powered it up and ran through the 3 min set because i have an android account already. Launched my favorite shows on Netflix Altered Carbon in Dolby Vision and was greeted with Netflix calibrated mode which looked better than any set i have every seen. The colors just popped the motion was jag free and the contrast was just ridiculous. As for audio this was perfect for my AVR set up because this set supports the HDMI 2.1 Feature eARC for lossless audio, So the audio was also superb. I also dig the new Remote that comes with that set that works with my Xfinity box and can control my AVR from the on screen quick menu for quick audio adjustments like center channel db and more.As for app support its not the old android SOC that was super slow and laggy, it was just super fast and buttery. it also has tones of apps that get updated in the background so you never have to worry about not having the latest version of Disney+, Amazon, ESPN and more. i think there is over 5000+ apps and Android just keeps adding more . It supports my Apple cast and home kit stuff. As far as gaming this set has no VRR or Free-sync support, but the set has Auto picture which switches to game mode in the blink of an eye with an input lag of 15ms and lower on lower resolution. in all honesty it was super fast for me as i was playing the last of us 2 in HDR 4k. Not to mention Free-Sync and G-Sync are features for PC gamers and PS5 and the new Xbox, and i Don't know if games are going to take advantage of 4k 120FPS with HDR or even 1440P with 120FPS. To me eARC is more important to me along with all formats of HDR.I love the picture, the viewing angles are impossible to beat, Sony's Processing is unbeatable, thins like Object HDR Remastering, X-motion Clarity, Sony's Dynamic tone mapping, Supper Bit mapping and Triluminos colors are perfect for me i just haven't seen picture better than this set.
If you have a dark cinema room go with this Sony. You will not be disappointed. Picture is more natural, but darker. Otherwise, I think LG takes the lead for its 2.1 HDMIs, more modern looking, has more vibrant colors and is brighter. After a few weeks watching various content, I returned this Sony because even though it’s amazing with the OLED screen and has slightly better motion, it was too dark and reflective for my bright-ish room and went with LG CX instead.
